Juan Pablo Mesías

Profile

Mr. Mesías has more than 15 years of experience practicing as a lawyer in labor matters, social security and tax aspects related to compensation and labor benefits.
He was the Director of the Labor Advisory and Labor Tax Practice of KPMG Chile from 2011 to August 2017, where he led numerous due diligence, labor audits, HR policy development; gave support to the area of international executive assignments; implementation of welfare services; design of remuneration and counseling structures for various national and international clients.

Between 2004 and 2011 he joined the Labor and Tax Advisory Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), participating as a supervisor in numerous labor and tax due diligence processes, regulatory compliance reviews and as an advisor to the remuneration outsourcing area.
In his area of specialty, he has served several companies in the retail, telecommunications, concessions, insurance, health, construction & real estate, forestry, security and fishing sectors, as well as education and technology, among others. Between 1995 and 2003 he joined the Legal Department of Isapre Colmena Golden Cross, an institution in which he had preferential focus on labor matters and in general social security.
He has been invited to collaborate as a rapporteur in the Chair of Tax Law of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in relation to the tax aspects of remuneration and labor benefits.
